Hail history

Did hail hit here?

Every day since October 2020 that radar estimated hail at or near a U.S. address, and the hail people reported to the National Weather Service nearby.

  • Radar estimates are NOAA's estimated hail size (MESH): the largest hail the radar estimates aloft, on a grid about 0.7 mile (1 km) across. They often run larger than what reached the ground, and they aren't a measurement at any house.
  • Reports are hail that spotters, officials and the public reported to the National Weather Service (its Storm Prediction Center's storm reports), within 10 miles.
  • Not proof of damage. Neither is an official record for an insurance claim. For that, ask your insurer what they accept; NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information keeps the official Storm Events Database.
